Six of us are gathering in Los Angeles in early September to see the fabulous Beyonce on tour.  Her support for the LGBTQ+ communities is legendary, and we are thrilled to be there to show our appreciation.  Very exciting!

Has anyone already seen Beyonce's "Renaissance World Tour" or planning to attend one of her shows?

What is the purpose of this?

I find the way you deliberately counter everything I say to be very odd.

I'm happy to read she's only sold six tickets for LA, though.

"Together, let's change the world... for GOOD"

Excuse me if I have my doubts. I find it hard to reconcile this goal with promoting Dubai and its rulers.

Yeah, we've all seen that many times before. Does that give her a pass to do whatever she likes forever more?

It should have been Etta James anyway.

This thread is NOT about you so feel free to not comment, ever.

Moving all the way on past that person for good, Beyonce is amazing and her concerts must be a great time, especially in Dubai!

She was amazing in Philadelphia.  Over the weekend, due to inclement weather in DC metro area, the show start was delayed.  Once it started it became clear that many concert goers would miss the last metro trains for the night. She paid in excess of $100,000 to keep the trains running and stations open for at least an hours past normal station closings.  Who else would have done that. She is completely utterly amazing.

That is very nice of her to do and glad to hear it. Seems like a bunch of big-name artists are being very generous this summer. Taylor Swift gave out huge bonuses to truckers and tour crew, think it was something like $100,000 to 50 truckers.

It is getting to the point where I wonder why I even try to "chat" with you. First, the market determines ticket prices to concerts, Broadway shows, sporting event and other type of entertainment. Nobody is forcing people to folk over their money to see Beyonce or Taylor Swift perform. If you don't like the price, don't go see them perform live. Recording artists make very little money from recordings in the age we live in, and they know to make money that have to tour. I am not a fan musically of either artist mentioned but will admit they put on one heck of a show and give their audience they money's worth for a ticket to their show. You must be a person who enjoys misery because you can't even accept that this was a nice act of kindness by these ladies. Really, you don't think giver a trucker $100,000 bonus will make their life a lot better economically. Paying to keep the trains running so people could enjoy the entire show and not have to find an expensive "Uber/Lyft" ride home was very thoughtful. Thinking back on your posts, you are never happy. There is almost something negative, I almost feel sorry for you. Have a nice day.

Ticket prices have gotten way out of hand. The fans are being ripped off. I don't find it generous or amazing for these billionaires to throw a few crumbs back to the huddled masses.

You disagree, that's fine. I'm sorry if you only want to chat with people who share your sentiments entirely on every subject, that can not be me. Please don't take it personally. I am not attacking you, and I'm sorry if it comes across that way. I just can not join in with the blind idolatry of these hypocrites.

No, I do not enjoy misery. I can't help but feel glum when a supposed LGBT ally sells her soul to Dubai and nobody cares at all. It really gives me an insight into how Trump supporters can turn a blind eye to all of his sins. They just refuse to see them.

Yes, she IS amazing.  Her consideration and generosity is just one of many reasons why I admire her.

I see her tour has grossed nearly $300 million over 33 shows. Some people actually see this as a good thing. To me, it's obscene. I genuinely have a ton more respect for the public transit workers she so generously paid to work overtime. How much do they earn over 33 nights?

On the flip side, the Made in America festival in Philadelphia is canceled this year.

So wait, you’re saying that anyone regardless of being in the LGBTQI+ community or not, must be a republican trump supporter simply because they really didn’t care one way or the other about her performing in Dubai? I mean, I like the passion but it’s very much misplaced in this situation. I mean, if the general response from the public is one of indifference either way, it should have you reconsider things. By saying that you’re annoyed that that is the general reaction to things it may mean that you have to reconsider your view point on things. Also, there is a difference between doing a show in Dubai, verses doing one where she is supporting the government there. I honestly think you’re going overboard here and then some.

No, I am not saying that all Beyoncé fans are Trump supporters. Not at all.

Just that it illustrates the power of obsession. If you love somebody, you can turn a blind eye to anything. No inconvenient truths can get in your way. I suppose I could have used examples other than Trump. Michael Jackson, for example.

I'm not putting Mrs. Carter's sins on the same level as the crimes they are accused of before anyone jumps down my throat, character assassinates me, and goes running to the moderators to lodge dozens of complaints.

Also, the indifference to her promoting a homophobic hellzone like Dubai most certainly does not make me reconsider. I put that down to sheer ignorance and the insular nature of the US. Like I've said previously, if she had taken twenty million dollars to promote Mar-a-Lago, I imagine the reaction would have been stronger.

I replied to you, but the post was taken down when I got suspended for 7 days Not sure if it was you or "Highland Guy" or both who got me suspended.  I am not going to bother repeating the post, maybe it was considered offensive - wow. I will be posting a rebuttal to this board in a couple of minutes about suspensions.

Hi, Zeppie. It was not me who got you suspended. In fact, I'm just back from a seven-day ban myself. I never got a chance to read your reply so don't even know what it is you think I complained about.

That is almost funny. Since my reply to you was removed, I assumed you complained about it. If you did not complain about it, it begs the question why that post was taken down. I had other post in threads that were kept, very strange.

I see you read my PM, glad you agree.

I wasn't able to make it to L.A. for her performance.  But we gifted a friend with my ticket, and she and my husband had a spectacular evening....that included Diana Ross singing "Happy Birthday".
