Regardless of whatever thread that was made in, all I can say is this. Get over yourself and your ridiculous notion that the world has to be 100 per cent PC all the time. I mean, sure, the founding fathers owned slaves. Hell, Jefferson slept with his. However, it is asinine to not only disregard the great things they did for their country as well as hold them to the same standards of how we view human life in today’s society. Of course slavery was bad. I am not saying or suggesting otherwise.

I am in favor of banning the confederate as well as removing monuments celebrating those who fought for the south in the Civil War. Yet, at the same time, there has to be a line somewhere in all this before it goes too far. Now, I myself don’t know what it is. But, there has to be one somewhere. And, taking presidencies and other historical figures off off dollar bills is not the way to go about it.

Get over your woe is me attitude and your notion that people hate you therefore that is why you’re getting suspended or your posts are. Read the terms of service on this site, it genuinely can help you. And, if you’re unsure of why something you said got deleted. You can always PM the mods. They are very friendly, specially when it comes to informing you of why either a deletion or ban occurred.

Personal example, a good long while back, when there was an article about Chad Kimball being let go from Come From Away due to his views on the coved vaccine, I started a thread to discuss it and it got deleted. Unsure why, I asked the mods and they informed me that you can’t post about a case that is currently in litigation. It was a very polite chat and I told them that I didn’t realize that and that it turned into “ I know now for next time” type thing and that was that.

The resident bully/troll is on a self-imposed (perhaps BWW-imposed) 30-day absence.  Maybe we can now welcome back former posters who left the fold.

Back on topic.

Three remarkable Americans, all of the same generation, have left us within the past few days.  Whatever your personal opinions, they helped change the landscape of our country.

"Rest in Peace" Rosalynn Carter, Henry Kissinger, and Sandra Day O'Connor.  You will all be remembered.

Kind of surprised you're still posting after your "[expletive] moron" attack the other day. Surely you can't be proud of that.

Given the practical inability of slaves to decline consent, I think there's a pretty wide consensus that "rape" is the word to use here.

I've always thought that it requires a rather radical form of moral relativism to say that people who claimed to own other human beings were anything other than monsters, regardless of the time and place.
