I don't think anyone questions this –– and who can blame him? Being a landlord can be a bum gig when the economics are as shaky as Broadway, especially after the tumultuous past few years. I bet he'll be thrilled to relinquish the day to day running, and focus on the creative & producing elements (and being the resident fashionisto, and being dad to a 6-year-old).

The deal is now complete, ATG has acquired five more houses for $308 million. Could we be seeing a new British Invasion?

I mean, we are getting the immersive Cabaret next year! I’m still not giving up hope that Frecknall’s Streetcar will transfer! That woman is an absolute rising star and she will soon make a big name for herself on Broadway!! As a director myself, I would do anything to learn from her!

The ATG Entertainment branding takeover appears to be complete. The Jujamcyn name is now gone from the Playbill masthead, and Jujamcyn's website has been updated to align with ATG's branding.

I also noticed the red "Jujamcyn" awning for their offices next to the St. James is gone.



 

some former Jujamcyn officials also have new titles under ATG on the theatre owner page of the Playbill. No mention of "Jujamcyn." Jordan Roth has a "Creative Director" title.

I assume ATG has plans to either start its own proper ticketing platform or acquire an existing platform. The Hudson and Lyric currently sell via the individual theatre websites (I don't know what backend ticketing system they run on), but the Jujamcyn houses still sell via SeatGeek. And then they can have full control of service fees, lists, and data without having to deal with a third party.

ATG has its own ticketing system, it’s called ATG Tickets. The Hudson and Lyric Theatres both use it.

I assume ATG's longer-term goal for the next 10-20 years is to either buy Nederlander (all or part of it) or Broadway Across America/John Gore Org (which would give ATG monopolization of touring and group sales). Nederlander's always been family-owned, and there are a lot of Nederlanders running around, but few are young and in real positions of leadership.

Unless, of course, the Private Equity owners get tired of ATG and sell it for parts.
