Thomas, a beleaguered writer-director, is desperate to find an actress to play the female lead in his adaptation of the 1870 novel Venus in Fur. Vanda, a talented and sensual young actress, arrives late for her audition but is determined to land the lead in his play. Her strange command of the material, seductiveness, and perplexing self-assertion arouse Thomas's interest. As the two work through the script, they blur the line between play and reality, entering into an electrifying game of submission and domination that only one of them can win. VENUS IN FUR is a deliciously sexy comedy that glitters with kinky sparkles and represents another departure for the multifaceted David Ives. 2012 Tony Award Nominee, Best Play
