La Monnaie De Munt to Present Richard Wagner's PARSIFAL in Concert

After the success of Lohengrin in 2018 and Tristan und Isolde in 2019, La Monnaie De Munt's musical director Alain Altinoglu will continue his exploration of Wagnerian music with the concert version of Parsifal.

With this work, Richard Wagner returns to the roots of spirituality, love and art. Whatever the message of the legend of the 'pure fool' who, with his naivety as his only weapon, goes in search of the Holy Grail, this score remains one of the most fascinating and refined in the history of musical theatre. A concert version allows us to discover its genius in a different way, without detracting from the ritual dimension of this piece in which Wagner's vision of the "total work of art" as a reinvention of the ancient Greek tragedy culminates. Together with excellent performers and the La Monnaie Symphony Orchestra, their musical director Alain Altinoglu will transform this cathartic work into a musical feast!
