On Sunday, April 28, I had the pleasure of seeing THE WAFFLE HOUSE FIVE as put on by Pantochino Productions at the MAC in Milford, CT. This musical comedy features book and lyrics by Director Bert Bernardi with music by Justin Riggs. This tells the story of Waffle House workers who agree to split the winnings if any of them win the lottery, and how that plays out, if one of them really does win.
On Saturday, April 27, I had the pleasure of seeing SNOW WHITE at the Downtown Cabaret Children's Theatre in Bridgeport, CT. This is an excellent season finale to what has been another wonderful season at the Downtown Cabaret Children's Theatre. Under the direction of Frank Root and choreography of Cassie Carroll, the stellar cast has once again brought life to Phill Hill's brilliant writing that keeps the children enthralled while simultaneously providing entertainment for the adults.
On Friday, April 5, I had the pleasure of seeing a phenomenally performed comedy about comedy! As expected, the Connecticut Cabaret Theatre in Berlin, CT has delivered another high quality show, THE COMPLETE HISTORY OF COMEDY (ABRIDGED) by Reed Martin and Austin Tichenor. Not only is it highly entertaining to watch, but I feel my takeaway from it has helped make me a better person, which to me is the ultimate sign of success for any show!
Downtown Cabaret Theatre gets an amazing cast for the comedic musical SISTER ACT and provides a performance that truly brings this musical to its maximum.
These original comedies, so masterfully delivered, keep the audience laughing all throughout, and continue to reveal the power of local theater, local acting, and local playwrighting which every year at the Ridgefield Theater Barn proves itself to be far superior than much of what is highly acclaimed on Broadway.
THE PRINCESS AND THE FROG is one of the greatest Downtown Cabaret Children's Theatre shows I have ever seen! The acting is spectacular! I highly recommend this show to all audiences!
Fairfield Center Stage yet again presents a high quality production with the musical DREAMGIRLS. An excellent cast entertains the entire audience. The run ends on March 9, so get your tickets quickly!
For those who like cleverly written comedic spoofs of familiar plays, and constant humor done well, I highly recommend THE COMPLETE WORKS OF WILLIAM SHAKESPEARE ABRIDGED as performed by the Castle Craig Players in Meriden, CT. This three person show kept the audience laughing from start to finish.
WORKING is an amazing musical, brilliantly performed by a talented cast, at the consistently first-rate ACT of CT, under the direction of the creative Daniel C. Levine.

In Fairfield's Burr Mansion the audience follows the story from room to room, watching this extremely talented cast act out this classic tale.
The Downtown Cabaret Theatre, in Bridgeport, CT has assembled a first-rate cast for ANNIE, their finest production of 2018! I highly recommend this show to all audiences. The singing, dancing, choreography, and acting are all amazing and reflect incredible effort and hard work from an enthusiastic and highly talented cast.
GLITZ! THE LITTLE MISS CHRISTMAS PAGEANT MUSICAL is an excellent musical comedy with an extremely talented cast of both adults and youth. The music is original and of high quality. The comedy is legitimately funny and the cast enjoy playing their roles as much as the audience enjoys watching them perform. I highly recommend this production.
WINDER WONDERETTES is playwright Roger Bean's new sequel to his previous hit jukebox musical comedy The Marvelous Wonderettes, which the Castle Craig Players produced last year. The same brilliant director Ian Galligan brings back the same four extremely talented actresses who gel together with tighter harmonies and stronger stage chemistry than many touring bands have ever attained. Chelsea Dacey, Emma Czaplinski, Jessica Engster, and Jennifer Del Sole reprise their roles of Suzy, Missy, Betty Jean, and Cindy Lou, respectively. Musical director Chris Coffee leads the three piece backstage live band that accompanies the singers, enhancing the quality of this show that is marvelous all around with excellent acting, singing, dancing, and stage antics.
The classic IT'S A WONDERFUL LIFE retains its strong emotional impact when presented in radio play format. This excellent group of radio players at the Ridgefield Theater Barn have truly done justice to one of the greatest fictional stories ever written.
On Friday, November 23, 2018, I had the pleasure of seeing CLEVER LITTLE LIES, yet another first-rate show at the Connecticut Cabaret Theatre in Berlin, CT. This play, written by Joe DiPietro contains both comedy and drama, categories that are often difficult to effectively merge, yet combine flawlessly here, due to the excellent acting of all four talented cast members who shine in their respective roles, under the strong direction of Kris McMurray.
