People Suck: A Musical Airing of Grievances - The Australian Premiere of the Canadian musical song cycle that took the Toronto Fringe by the balls - and won awards for it.Jerks, morons, flakes - let's face it: PEOPLE SUCK. Winner of Best of Toronto Fringe and Patron's Pick, this irreverent, hilarious and all-too-relatable musical comedy explores the many, many ways in which people are just the worst. Being produced for the very first time outside Toronto, this intimate musical is a not-so-gentle reminder to be ever vigilant and learn to be better human beings, one day at a time...Written by award winning Canadian writing team Megan Phillips and Peter Cavell and performed originally in Toronto with a number of Second City Alumni, People Suck is being presented by The Butterfly Club in Melbourne from March 11th - 16th. This will be the theatrical debut of upcoming Melbourne Company Salty Theatre, co-founded by Melbourne theatre, dance and cabaret veteran Sarah Louise Younger and Canadian theatre and screen vet Ashley Taylor. Together, this duo has taken on the ugly, outrageous and offensive thoughts and actions that human beings find themselves exploring daily.People Suck opens Monday, 11th March and runs through Saturday 16th March. August 25, 2019Salty Theatre presents the Australian Premiere of Top Gun! The Musical for TWO NIGHTS ONLY at Chapel Off Chapel! Originally produced during the Toronto Fringe, TG!TM was nominated for multiple Dora Awards, including Outstanding New Musical. In 2004, Top Gun! The Musical was selected to be part of the inaugural New York Musical Theatre Festival, alongside featured new musicals by Stephen Schwartz, Avenue Q's Marx and Lopez and Chicago's Kander and Ebb. Now, Salty Theatre is bringing together a stellar group of international artists to introduce Top Gun! The Musical to Melbourne.
