The VORTEX presents a one-night-only staged reading of a new choreopoem by Lisa B. Thompson. This new theatre piece offers a spiritual mixed tape, praise dance, community guide, self-help book, lullaby, road map, collective diary of prayers and lies, and love song for Black women and girls.
Directed by Rudy Ramirez. Featuring Nadine Mozon, Hayley Armstrong, and Sade M. Jones, who also serves as Movement Director. Dramaturgy by Virginia Grise. Music by Guthrie P. Ramsey, lyrics by Lisa B. Thomspon.
The Black Feminist Guide to the Human Body will debut in a full production at The VORTEX, in conjunction with Fusebox Festival, in April 2024.
