Drawing on the extraordinary courage and indomitable spirit of the ANZACs, Rotunda is a poignant and moving work timed to honour the Gallipoli landings in 1915.
Exploring themes of loyalty, courage, loss, and hope, it brings to life the world of the band rotunda; an iconic symbol of early 20th century community and the scene for music and celebrations, laugher and stolen kisses, and love lost and promises made.
Renowned for their physicality, rhythm and expression, The New Zealand Dance Company presents the Australian premiere of Rotunda, an extraordinary work integrating a 20-piece live brass band, shadow play, mace twirling and dynamic contemporary dance theatre.
