Game of Thrones alum Kit Harington stars in Sam Shepard's True West. Broadway World has an exclusive look below!

The West End is already the home to some stand-out productions but this November brings another that has entertained and impressed audiences around the world since it first emerged in the early 1980s. It has seen some big names perform on some of the world's most famous stages and now heads to the West End for the latest step in its decades-long journey.

True West is Sam Shepard's 1980 play that will star Kit Harrington and Johnny Flynn as Austin and Lee, a screenwriter and his brother in Hollywood, transporting audiences to the desert near the West Coast of the United States and providing them with a memorable and unmissable experience in London's West End.

Austin's work as a screenwriter has not gone unnoticed by his brother Lee and when he is recruited to pen a new film for the high profile producer Saul Kimmer, Lee re-enters his world with a proposition that could tear apart Austin's psyche.

Lee makes his living stealing from houses, so they could not be further away from each other when it comes to life-choices, but Lee's re-entry into Austin's sphere threatens to undo his successful world.

It's a compelling story and one that very nearly landed the Pulitzer Prize for Drama back in the early 1980s. So it's no wonder some big names have landed in the lead roles over the years, with Broadway and London productions invited performances from the likes of Philip Seymour Hoffman and Mark Rylance, amongst others.

This time, however, producers have landed a coup with the casting of Harrington and Flynn, both of whom have made names for themselves on the stage and screen. Harrington was last seen in the West End in Doctor Faustus at the Duke of York's Theatre in 2016 and his other credits include The Vote at The Donmar Warehouse, POSH at The Royal Court Theatre and War Horse at the New London theatre. He is better known, of course, from Game Of Thrones, Spooks: The Greater Good and Brimstone, amongst others.
