In April of 1999, the shootings at Columbine High School in Littleton, Colorado, captured the attention of the world. In exploring the events surrounding this tragedy, columbinus examines the hope, humor and struggles of the American teenager, as well as the dark yet familiar recesses of the two minds that perpetrated the taking of 15 lives. This play weaves together survivor accounts from students, statements from police and community leaders, interviews with the perpetrators, and recorded documents; ultimately creating an extraordinary and jarring account of what happened one ordinary day in Colorado, a day that became a wake-up call for us all.
