Riverside Center for the Performing Arts, located right in Washington DC's backyard,  is excited to present Ragtime the Musical. Opening Wednesday, March 15th and running until Sunday, May 7th, this powerful story and explosive score will keep audiences on the edge of their seats.  The music of the show was written by Stephen Flaherty, with lyrics by Lynn Ahrens, and the book written by the award-winning Terrance McNally. Ragtime opened on Broadway in 1998 and received the Tony awards for Best Book of a Musical and Best Score of a Musical. It was then revived on Broadway in 2009. Noteworthy songs include “Wheels of a Dream,” “Make Them Hear You,” and “Back to Before.”  

Riverside Center for the Performing Arts Producing Artistic Director, Patrick A’Hearn is pleased to announce a stellar cast being led by Adrianne Hick as Mother, Nicole Vanessa Ortiz as Sarah and Jacquez Linder-Long as Coalhouse. Adrianne Hick has toured with Les Miserables and Jekyll and Hyde, and was last seen on the Riverside stage as Alice in Bright Star. Nicole Vanessa Ortiz has played the role of Sarah before, along with placing in the top 30 of American Idol. Jacquez Linder-Long was seen in the National Tour in Beautiful: The Carole King Musical. The cast also includes Alan Hoffman (Tateh), Brian Nabors (Father), Jarrett Bloom (Younger Brother), Andrea Kahane (Emma Goldman), Sarah Mae Andersen (Evelyn Nesbit), Kadejah Oné (Sarah’s Friend), Joey Vogel (Little Boy), Catherine Mayers (Little Girl), Andy Braden (Willie Conklin), Ian Lane (Grandfather), Anthony Williams (Booker T. Washington), Brendan Hale (Harry Houdini), Chris Zavadowski (J.P. Morgan), and Kevin Cleary (Henry Ford). The ensemble includes Elizabeth C. Butler, Nancy M. Crawley, Colleen Kleveno, Nikia Lee, Sally Roehl, Thea Simpson, Maury Allen Williams, and Stephanie Wood.

The creative team is led by Director Patrick A’Hearn and Choreography is by the lovely Stephanie Wood. Music Direction is led by Richmond native Carson Eubank, the Production Stage Manager is Ingrid Pierson, and the Assistant Stage Manager is Jennifer Rose Hardin. The Scenic Designer is Frank Foster, Lighting/Projection Designer is Michael Jarett, and Production Electrician is Weston Corey. Costumes are designed by Kyna Chilcot, with Erin Welsh as Costume Shop & Wardrobe Supervisor. Sound Design by J. Pat Bragg, and the Sound Engineer is Cheyenne Tenda. The creative team is complete with Technical Director Nathan Dunn, Production Manager Kyna Chilcot, and Company Manager James Davis.

Discounted senior and group rates are available, as well as same day RUSH tickets and show only tickets. Evening performances start at 7:30pm with dinner service beginning at 5:30pm on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. Matinee performances start at 1:30pm with dinner service beginning at 11:30am on Wednesday and 3:00pm on Sunday with dinner service beginning at 1:00pm.
