The Students’ Theatre division of The Highwood Theatre presents Company, winner of multiple Tony and Drama Desk Awards, including Best Musical. The musical, with music and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim and book by George Furth, centers around the love life of the young, attractive and perpetually-single New Yorker, Bobby and five couples who are his closest friends. Using non-linear storytelling and individual vignette scenes, Furth and Sondheim explore the nature of relationships, commitment and life in the city.

Featuring an all-student cast coached by a team of professional theatre artists, The Highwood Theatre’s latest production allows young actors the opportunity to tackle challenging roles while receiving direction, training and support from experienced, high-quality performers. This unique rehearsal experience provides a collaborative environment and supports Highwood’s specific mission to build community through art, and set Company apart from other student productions.

The team of professional coaches includes Kevin Kearney (Director), L'Tanya Mari' Lumpkin-Rivas (Musical Director), Jessica Pena (Choreographer), Vivian Allvin, Annette Wasno, Melissa Robinson, Jennifer Berry, Matthew Nicola, and Gray West (Acting Coaches) and Derek David (Stage Manager).

Company is part of Highwood’s 2014-2015 Mainstage Season and is the season’s sixth production by its Students’ Theatre division, which is dedicated to producing high-quality theatre productions with casts and production teams comprised of talented student actors. Performances are at 7:30 pm on Friday, May 22nd; Saturday, May 23rd; and at 7:00 pm on Sunday, May 24th. Matinee performances are at 2:00 pm on Saturday, May 23rd and Sunday, May 24th.
