One of the world’s preeminent modern dance companies, the first Asian American principal dancer in New York City Ballet history, the co-founder of an affirming online space for Black classical dancers, and more are among the first artists to join this summer’s Fire Island Dance Festival.

On June 8, 2024 Maraya Performing Arts will present a heartfelt jukebox musical that explores the coming of age, triumphs and resilience of a first-generation Filipina-American artist seeking the American dream.

Kinesis Project dance theatre will present a sneak peek of Bridge Matter/The Reach at Riverside Revue, part of Riverside Park Conservancy's Summer on the Hudson Festival, on June 5, 2024, at 6:30pm.

According to new reports, Tony Winners Rachel Bay Jones and Danny Burstein will star alongside newcomer Ana Sharp in an independent film from Laura Somers called Rise and Shine. Based on a true story, the film follows Janice Steele and her daughter Terri who makes the transition from homeschool to public school. Janice, who was born with cerebral palsy and a developmental delay, inspires those around her in this new environment with her positivity.

The star-studded My Favorite Things: The Rodgers & Hammerstein 80th Anniversary Concert will be broadcast on Sky Arts on Sunday, 26 May 2024 at 6 p.m.

Two of Australia’s most celebrated leading ladies, Anna O’Byrne and Marina Prior, will star in a concert presentation of Rodgers and Hammerstein’s CAROUSEL in Melbourne and Sydney.

PRELUDE IN THE PARKS, a citywide festival of environmental art-works, will take place from June 7-9, 2024, showcasing innovative art installations across various parks in New York City.

“SOUTH PACIFIC is a masterpiece, and the role of Emile de Becque is an important one.  He is a man who hates war, has found his slice of peace, and is willing to fight for love.  It is such a joy to play the part and be able to fall in love eight times a week.”  Baritone William Michals is sharing his thoughts about MSMT and Fulton Theatres’ new co-production of SOUTH PACIFIC which opens MSMT’s 65th season on June 6, 2024 (Previews June 5).  His enthusiasm for the project is shared by his co-star, Carolyn Anne Miller, who plays Ensign Nellie Forbush. “I have fond memories of the show from the records my grandmother, who was an actor, used to play.  I knew all the songs by heart, and it is a thrill to play the role for the first time.”
