Emmy Award-nominated singer, songwriter, and composer Ingrid Michaelson has announced a brand new traditional pop album, For the Dreamers, alongside a release of her new single, “What A Wonderful World.” A lush, swirling lullaby with a sense of wonder and instrumentation that captures the nostalgia of the music of the 40s and 50s, Michaelson’s take on this timeless Great American Songbook classic is now streaming everywhere. On Thursday, May 16, this reviewer attended the next installment in the series, “Now & Then: The Stories,” and was blown away by Mayes’ storytelling prowess.

Lightheaded are, simply, a great pop group. Their songs are full of melody and harmony, are bittersweet and memorable, familiar yet original. Their sound is a perfect mix of jangling guitars -- featuring Sara Abdlebarry's exquisite, tasteful, but punchy Gretsch lead played over Stephen Stec's Rickenbacker chime -- anchored to singer Cynthia Rickenbach's Hofner Violin bass, which sounds like the bass on Michel Polnareff's first LP. The Springfield Chamber Players will return to the Longmeadow Adult Center with a free performance by Quartetto Mosso on Thursday, June 13, at 6PM. The performance, held rain or shine, features violinists Ronald Gorevic and Beth Welty, violist Delores Thayer, and cellist Yoonhee Ko.

Lightning Bug has shared their third and final single “Lullaby for Love”, from their forthcoming album No Paradise, out next week.
