Grand Theatre 125th Anniversary Pantomime, Nativity Musical And More For 2019 Season!

There's plenty to celebrate as the Grand Theatre turns 125 next year! The streets of Wolverhampton will be paved with gold as the magic of DICK WHITTINGTON comes to the Grand Theatre!

Celebrating the theatre's 125th Anniversary year in spectacular style, the pantomime will feature the set, costumes and production values direct from the Olivier Award-winning London Palladium production of DICK WHITTINGTON and runs from Saturday 7 December 2019 - Sunday 12 January 2020.

With a star cast to be announced, join our pantomime hero Dick Whittington as he seeks fame, fortune and happiness to become the Lord Mayor of London. Guided by the magical Fairy Bow Bells on an adventure that sends him from London town to the High Seas headed for Morocco, can he outwit the evil King Rat, free London from his team of revolting rodents and win the beautiful Alice's hand in marriage? Find out in the ultimate magical pantomime adventure! don't miss the action-packed pantomime full of laughter, music and eye-popping special effects.

Kicking off 2019's festive celebrations will be NATIVITY! THE MUSICAL from Tuesday 29 October - Saturday 2 November. Feel-good, funny and full of yuletide joy, this cracker of a musical was adapted for the stage by Debbie Isitt, the creator of the much-loved films. Every child in every school has one Christmas wish, to star in a Nativity, and at St Bernadette's School, they're attempting to mount a musical version! Only trouble is teacher Mr Maddens has promised that a Hollywood producer is coming to see the show to turn it into a film. Join him, his teaching assistant the crazy Mr Poppy, hilarious children and a whole lot of sparkle and shine as they struggle to make everyone's Christmas wish come true. Featuring all of your favourite sing-a-long hits from the movies including Sparkle and Shine, Nazareth, One Night One Moment, She's the Brightest Star and a whole host of new songs filled with the spirit of Christmas.

THE DRIFTERS on Monday 15 April are the longest running singing group in pop history still performing live, having enjoyed over 50 hits world wide.

Brought to you direct from the London Palladium, Des O'Connor AND JIMMY TARBUCK LIVE returns on Saturday 27 April. Two legends of television, show-business and of the Royal Variety Performance come together, accompanied by music and video to reminisce and entertain for one night only!

TINA: SIMPLY THE BEST on Monday 10 June features the powerful, raspy vocals and thrilling stage presence of Caroline Borole live on stage, complete with band, brass section, backing vocalists and dancers to make this the definitive tribute, and a fabulous fun night out!

Willy Russell's EDUCATING RITA from Monday 8 - Saturday 13 July stars Stephen Tompkinson and Jessica Johnson. When married hairdresser Rita enrols on a university course to expand her horizons, little does she realise where the journey will take her. Her tutor Frank is a frustrated poet, brilliant academic and borderline alcoholic, who's less than enthusiastic about taking Rita on, but the two soon realise how much they have to teach each other. This hilarious and heart-warming comedy won the Olivier award when it was produced in London's West End by the RSC and was adapted into the multi award winning film which starred Julie Walters and Michael Caine. Written by one of our greatest ever playwrights Willy Russell and starring one of our best loved actors Stephen Tompkinson as Frank and introducing Jessica Johnson as Rita.

HAIR from Tueday 23 - Saturday 27 July is the revolutionary, Grammy award-winning musical starring Dancing on Ice's 2018 champion Jake Quickenden as Berger, Hollyoaks' Daisy Wood-Davis as Sheila and X Factor 2011 finalist Marcus Collins as Hud. The cast is completed by: Alison Arnopp, Tom Bales, Louise Francis, Natalie Green, David Heywood, Bradley Judge, Aiesha Pease, Laura Sillett, Spin, Kelly Sweeney and Paul Wilkins.

Directed by National Theatre Artistic Director Rufus Norris, CABARET has enjoyed two smash hit West End runs at The Lyric and The Savoy theatres. CABARET runs from Tuesday 3 - Saturday 7 September and features show-stopping choreography, dazzling costumes and iconic songs Money Makes The World Go Round, Maybe This Time, Cabaret and more. Since its Broadway premiere and the movie version with Liza Minnelli and Joel Grey, CABARET has won numerous stage and screen awards including 8 Oscars, 7 BAFTAs and 13 Tonys. It's 1931, Berlin is a haven of divine decadence and the legendary Sally Bowles is about to take stage at the infamous Kit Kat Klub...
