Bygone Theatre is thrilled to have the opportunity to bring Jewish Canadian comedy legends Wayne and Shuster back to the stage thanks to the support of their children – Michael and Brian Wayne and Rosie Shuster – for a limited engagement of four performances at Hart House Theatre.
Directed by Canadian Comedy Award winner Paul Bates (Clickbait & Switch, Second City; SARSical, Dora nominee), the show will feature classic sketches written by Johnny Wayne and Frank Shuster, and stars some of the city’s top comedic talents, including Canadian Comedy Award winner Matt Baram (Carter, CTV; Supergirl, CW); Canadian Screen Awards winner Aurora Browne (Baroness Von Sketch Show; Comedy Inc.); Second City alumna Leigh Cameron (The Bloody Marys; As You Like It, CanStage); actress and writer Bren Eastcott (Orestes, Tarragon Theatre; As You Like It, CanStage); recent Detroit Improv Festival headliner, Oliver Georgiou (Jan & George; The Bluff, Theatre Orangeville); and Canadian Screen Awards nominee Darryl Hinds (Overlord and the Underwood, Royal Canadian Air Farce, Little Mosque on the Prairie).
Audiences will be treated to classic sketches like Rinse the Blood Off My Toga (“I told him, Julie, don’t go!”), and A Shakespearean Baseball Game, as well as some old radio sketches never seen onstage, and much more!
