Rebecca Gilman’s, The Glory of Living, delves into the depths of human nature against the backdrop of true events. The Glory of Living tells the story of Lisa, a 15-year-old girl, and her marriage to Clint, an ex-con twice her age. Systematically abused by her husband, Lisa is coerced into helping him commit crimes of varying magnitude, including murder. As Ontario confronts the implications of Bill 173 and the widespread issue of intimate partner violence, the play emerges as a timely exploration of power dynamics and resilience. Through parallels between Lisa's story and the broader epidemic of abuse, our production of The Glory of Living compels audiences to confront uncomfortable truths while igniting conversations about empathy and societal change. Prepare for a thought-provoking theatrical experience that immerses you in the heart of the narrative, urging reflection on the complexities of relationships and the pursuit of justice.
