Christef Desir Joins the Cast of DRY POWDER

Evermore Theatre Company is pleased to announce that Christef Desir has joined the Toronto premiere production of Dry Powder.

Desir will star as Seth, a junior partner with a plan to rescue KMM Capital Management, a private equity firm struggling to make a comeback from a PR disaster. "Christef is electric. Seth is a very complex and conflicted character, and Christef really has an amazing and intuitive grasp of that complexity.", said Evermore producer Greg White.

The same week his private equity firm forced massive layoffs at a national grocery chain, Rick Hannel threw himself an extravagant engagement party, setting off a publicity nightmare. Fortunately, Seth, one of Rick's partners, has a dream of a deal to invest in an American-made luggage company for a song that will rescue his boss from the PR disaster. But Jenny, Rick's other partner, has an entirely different plan: to maximize returns, no matter the consequences. The game is on in this satirical, razor-sharp play about the price of success and the real cost of getting the deal done. Written by Sarah Burgess, Dry Powder premiered at The Public Theater in March 2016, directed by Thomas Kail, starring Claire Danes, John Krasinski, Hank Azaria, and Sanjit De Silva. The Toronto premiere will be directed by Angela Besharah and stars Rebecca Liddiard, Peter Keleghan, Christef Desir, and Greg White.

Christef Desir was born in Haiti and currently resides in Toronto. Christef recently graced the stage in the Canada wide premiere of the critical acclaimed, heavy hitting boxing play The Royale (Soulpepper Theatre). He also recently appeared in Innocence Lost: The Story of Steven Truscott (Soulpepper Theatre). Christef is thrilled to be a part of this production of Dry Powder. His other works include It's a Wonderful Life (Soulpepper), The Last Days of Judas Iscariot (Unit 102), Edmond (Storefront theatre). He has also made appearances in Ransom (CBS) and a variety of Independent films.

Evermore Theatre Company is a Toronto based theatre company producing premieres and revivals of the most riveting, engaging, and entertaining theatre from the world of Off-Broadway.
