The critically-acclaimed nine-time Tony Award® winning HIT musical THE BOOK OF MORMON from the creators of Southpark is coming to Stockholm, Sweden, January 2017.

The Swedish premiere at Chinateatern in Stockholm will be the first non-English version of the show.

Auditions will be held in Stockholm March 14-17 2016.

Update: The roles of the lead characters Kevin Price, Arnold Cunningham and Elder McKinley have already been cast.

THE BOOK OF MORMON is a religious satire musical which tells the story of two young Mormon missionaries sent to a remote village in northern Uganda, Africa where a brutal warlord is threatening the local population. Naïve and optimistic, the two missionaries seek to share their sacred Book of Mormon with the Ugandans and save their souls for Jesus. Problem is, the locals are more worried about pressing troubles such as war, famine, poverty and AIDS than about the after-life.

The book, lyrics, and music are by Trey Parker, Robert Lopez, and Matt Stone. Parker and Stone are most well known for their creation of the animated TV series South Park. Lopez wrote songs for Disney Animation's feature film Frozen.
