The SC New Play Festival will occur August 8-11, 2024. During the weekend, presentations of new plays and musicals will be presented, and the festival will culminate in a Broadway Cabaret. Past festival presentations include Kate Hamill's "The Scarlet Letter", Kareem Fahmy's "Dodi & Diana", Michael Friedman and Annie Weisman's "The Essential Alice", and many more. Past festival performers include Drew Gehling, Derrick Baskin, Grace McLean, Miguel Cervantes, Nick Blaemire, and Jarrod Spector.
The South Carolina New Play Festival has announced the 3rd annual festival. It will take place over four days, starting on Thursday, August 8, and will feature a wide range of musicals, plays, town halls, an outdoor variety stage, and will culminate in a Cabaret featuring Tony-nominee Phillip Boykin (Hadestown) on August 11.
The South Carolina New Play Festival has announced casting for A Black-billed Cuckoo by Mat Smart, KWEEN by Vichet Chum, The Essential Alice by Michael Friedman and Annie Weisman and Catching the Moon, The Story of A Young Girl's Baseball Dream by Nichole Jackson and Tyrone L. Robinson.

The South Carolina New Play Festival announced the shows for the city-wide performing arts festival in Greenville, South Carolina, August 12-14. The festival will feature readings of Kate Hamill's The Scarlet Letter, directed by Shelley Butler, Kareem Fahmy's Dodi and Diana, directed by Adrienne Campell-Holt, Adam Ben-David, Christyn Budzyna, and Jessica Penzias' musical From the Mixed-Up Files of Mrs. Basil E. Frankweiler, directed by West Hyler, and Samantha Miller's Dragonsoul Offline. The festival will end with a cabaret from Jarrod Spector and Kelli Barrett.
The South Carolina New Play Festival has announced that it will take over Greenville's downtown August 12–14, 2022, with readings of new plays and musicals at the Peace Center, Greenville Theatre, Warehouse Theatre, and the South Carolina Children's Theatre, and a closing-night cabaret at Genevieve's featuring Broadway celebrities Jarrod Spector and Kelli Barrett.
