On Friday, May 25, 2018 - Colby Christina 16 year old Teen Sensation received the coveted Brooklyn Academy of Music (BAM) Samuel H. Scripps Award during the Opening Night performance of the 41st year of DANCE AFRICA.

Writer-director Lara Foot's TSHEPANG: THE THIRD TESTAMENT, a play that rocked South African and shocked the world, forms part of the South African showcase at the 2017 Edinburgh Assembly Fringe Festival in Scotland. The impressive total of six award-winning and cutting-edge productions is presented by the Baxter Theatre Centre.

The Mother City's only magical arts organisation, the College of Magic, welcomed the Jive Cape Town Funny Festival's international stars Paul Dabek and Captain Frodo for a special visit to its mysterious Victorian manor in Claremont on Saturday 29 July 2017.

Rehearsals began this week for the 34-strong cast of a major tour UK tour of the National Theatre's internationally acclaimed production of War Horse, which begins performances on 15 September 2017 (with press night on 3 October) at the Marlowe Theatre in Canterbury and continues on a 15 city tour until February 2019. TheatreWorks Silicon Valley continues its 2016/2017 season with the Regional Premiere of Velina Hasu Houston's international comic drama, Calligraphy. Two continents, two cultures, two estranged sisters, and two cousins determined to bridge the gap between them, are all boldly calligraphed in this free-wheeling work set in Los Angeles and Tokyo, past and present.  East and West collide as Japanese free-spirit Sayuri and biracial American Hiromi care for their feuding mothers, whom they gamely hope to reunite before it is too late. Directed by TheatreWorks Associate Artistic Director Leslie Martinson, Calligraphy will be presented by TheatreWorks Silicon Valley March 8-April 2 at Lucie Stern Theatre, 1305 Middlefield Road, Palo Alto. The world in flux, a mood for change: the artists of Boy Blue give expression to experiences of contemporary life. Fuelled by an emotional energy, Blak Whyte Gray pairs the concentrated physicality of select hip-hop dance styles with the rhythmical groove of music and moves evoking Africa.

Queens Theatre (Taryn Sacramone, Executive Director) will present the award winning play In the Car with Blossom and Len written by Joni Fritz and directed by Tony Award nominee Lynne Taylor- Corbett (Broadway's SWING!) at the Queens Theatre's Shulman Theatre located at 14 United Nations Avenue South in Flushing Meadows Corona Park.
