BroadwayWorld previously reported that according to Vanity Fair, 'Dancing with the Stars' vet and star of the 'Rock of Ages' movie Julianne Hough wants to star as Elphaba in the film version of 'WICKED.' This soulful clip of Hough singing 'The Wizard And I' at a free live concert hosted by Netflix for the 70th Anniversary of 'The Wizard of Oz' in Central Park, New York, NY, on September 29, 2009, proves just how much she wants the role.

After breaking box office records and selling out in record time in 2009, WICKED, Broadway's biggest blockbuster, returns to Salt Lake City's Capitol Theatre July 18-August 26. Wicked has clearly established itself as a runaway success, so I don't think what people need now is my personal "review" of the show. The Broadway League has awarded coveted New York Education Grants to the Broadway productions of Wit by Margaret Edson, and Wicked by Stephen Schwartz and Winnie Holzman. Each production receives a $5,000 grant towards its 2012 educational initiatives. The grants are important to the growth and development of theatre education in the city as they encourage theatres to create more opportunities for young people and to exchange ideas about education.

A day-of-performance lottery for a limited number of $25 orchestra seats will be held prior to each performance of WICKED, playing January 25 - February 12 at Bass Concert Hall. Each day, 2½ hours prior to show time (Tuesday-Friday at 8 pm; Saturday at 2 p.m. and 8 p.m.; Sunday at 1 p.m. & 7 p.m.
