Rubicon Theatre Company continues its 2010-2011 Season with MASTER HAROLD...AND THE BOYS, a powerful and compelling drama by Athol Fugard which begins previews February 9 at Rubicon's intimate 195-seat home in Ventura's Downtown Cultural District. Set in the 1950s, MASTER HAROLD is the story of an adolescent white South African torn between his relationship with the black waiters who have befriended and cared for him, and the principles instilled in him by his father, an injured war veteran who is alternately absent and abusive. Recipient of the New York Drama Desk Award and London's Evening Standard for Best Play, this gripping drama has much to say about how racism can be passed from one generation to the next. The Cabaret rolls out the red carpet for 'The Queen of Cabaret,' Andrea Marcovicci as we celebrate the 2011 Season Grand Opening. Paying tribute to silver screen legends like Judy Garland, Audrey Hepburn, Bing Crosby, and Bob Hope, Andrea illuminates how movie music has scored our lives and loves. The evening will feature a dazzling array of movie songs from the 1930s through the 1990s - with such classics as 'The Way We Were,' 'Thanks for the Memory,' 'Days of Wine and Roses,' and 'As Time Goes By.' *Champagne reception to follow each performance. Black Tie Optional.

The 2010 Festival of New American Musicals, a three month musical theatre festival, will be held May 16 through August 21 2010, throughout Southern California. Marcia Seligson, Bob Klein, and Linda Shusett are the Executive Producers of the annual festival, now in its third year.

The Tony Award®-winning Signature Theatre, nationally known for its interpretation of Stephen Sondheim musicals, celebrated its 20th anniversary season by presenting Sondheim's most popular musical SWEENEY TODD, directed by Artistic Director Eric Schaeffer. The production will end its run in the 276-seat MAX Theater, April 4, 2010.

Northlight Theatre, under the direction of Artistic Director BJ Jones and Executive Director Timothy J. Evans, opens its 35th Season with the hit musical The Marvelous Wonderettes, written and directed by Roger Bean with music direction by Brian Baker and choreography by Janet Miller. The Chicago premiere runs September 17-October 25, 2009, at Northlight Theatre, 9501 Skokie Blvd in Skokie.
