Reboot Theatre Announces 2021 Lineup for Ongoing REBOOT REPRESENTS Web Series

Continuing its 5th-ish anniversary season, Transforming Theatre Together, the award-winning Reboot Theatre Company announces the upcoming themes for its monthly web series Reboot rePresents. Hosted by Gregory Award-winning director and Reboot Board President Harry Turpin, Reboot rePresents fosters discussion that broadens the scope of storytelling and uplifts overlooked voices.

Previous episodes have included chats with playwrights and artists from the Reboot Test Kitchen, Reboot alum, and guests such as Organizational Development Consultant Verhanika Wilhelm (Founder and CEO of Wilhelm Consulting), artistic leaders from Dacha, MAP Theatre, ReAct, Play Your Part, and Bainbridge Performing Arts, and have examined topics ranging from the renaissance of virtual theatre to nontraditional casting to incorporating social justice into art.

Reboot rePresents is a live broadcast on Reboot's facebook and youtube pages.

While the much anticipated 2020 production of Cabaret has been postponed until audiences and artists can gather safely in person, Reboot has also fostered artistic growth through its Test Kitchen, which premiered thirteen world premieres, including plays, musicals, operas, and a seance, in October 2020.

Through a combination of nontraditional concept, interpretation, and casting, Reboot Theatre Company's mission is to test new interpretations of established works both as a way for local artists to stretch their wings and for audiences to experience classics in a different light. Reboot has been moving the needle on storytelling since 2014 with its innovative productions of 1776, Fly By Night, Private Lives, Little Shop of Horrors (People's Choice Gregory Award for Outstanding Production), Sweeney Todd, and (eventually) Cabaret. Reboot is supported by grants from 4Culture's Arts Sustained Support, BECU People Helping People, and Seattle Arts and Culture.
