OUR DEAR DEAD DRUG LORD Comes to 12th Avenue Arts This Month

The final show in the Ensemble's 19th Season, Our Dear Dead Drug Lord by Alexis Scheer is a fiery incantation of adolescence and self discovery. Directed by, one of "Five actors who will light up seattle stages in 2023 (Seattle Times), S. Franco describes Drug Lord as a piece with "a rawness, a barbarity and sophomoric charm that these young women have as they stand on the precipice of adulthood, that's intoxicating and unnerving & feels familiar in the most discomforting way. They will stop at nothing, not even blood magic, to get what's theirs. And it's f-ing awesome.". Our Dear Dead Drug will begin stirring audiences souls April 28 - May 15 at 12th Avenue Arts.

Synopsis: Set in the face of the 2008 presidential election, a coven of teenage girls meet in an abandoned treehouse to summon the ghost of Pablo Escobar. Are they actually summoning the leader of the Medellín Cartel? Or are they just playing tricks on one another? This roller coaster ride through the trials and terrors of girlhood dabbles in dark magic and the uncertainty of growing up.

Shana Emile (SQUEEZE) (she/her) is delighted to be making her Washington Ensemble Theatre debut! She was most recently seen playing Judas in Jesus Christ Superstar (Reboot Theatre Company) and Marianne in the Revolutionists (Secondstory Repertory Theatre). She can be found around town singing with Puget Sound Company, an 9-person acapella group founded in Seattle. Originally from Los Angeles, Shana holds a Juris Doctorate from the University of Southern California and practices law in the area. She is so grateful for the welcoming environment she has experienced working with WET and would like to thank her friends and family for supporting her theatre endeavors.

Suz Pontillo (PIPE) (she/they) is a first-generation Chilean-American multi-hyphenate queer artist from Miami, Florida. Since moving to Seattle in 2020, Suz has had the opportunity to work with Tacoma Arts Live, Burien Actors Theatre, Strawberry Theatre Workshop, and Dacha. They are a proud founder of Queen City Theatre and member of Washington Ensemble Theatre. They are thrilled to be making their WET debut in this haunting show that she has been dreaming about since 2019.

Kerry Jacinto (KIT) is a local Seattle artist who received her undergraduate degree from UCSB's BFA acting program. Some of her more recent works include Prague Shakespeare Company's "A Midsummer Night's Dream" as Puck, her solo show "The Ties of Ropa" with Macha Theatre Works' 17 Minute Stories in Seattle, and Tales of the Alchemists Theatre's "Ruins of Memory" as Claire Barchi. Kerry is excited to be in her first production with WET and to be working with such lovely people!

Sarah Miri Daniels (ZOOM) (she/they) was born a peach in Atlanta, GA, but moved to rainy Seattle to receive her Theatre BFA with a concentration in Original Works from Cornish College of the Arts. This is their first WET production and they couldn't be more excited! In addition to acting, Sarah is also a playwright, director, filmmaker, producer and clown. Most recently she co-wrote, produced and performed in her clown group's first production, KNOW WHEN TO LEAVE. Follow @impulse6alley to learn more about what their clown "Smorange Juice" is up to in the future. She also co-directed and acted in ESSINCE an original short film featured in Seattle's SPLIFF Film Festival 2021. She was also a Playwright for Theatre Battery's 24 hour play festival, SLEEP IS FOR THE WEAK and a 2021 Cohort member for The Shattered Glass Project's Playwright Incubation Program. She sends all her gratitude and love to her friends and family, who keep her afloat amid the sea of stress life brings."

Olivia Juarez (PIPES SISTER) (she/her) is honored to make her debut performing at Washington Ensemble Theatre. She is a PNW born-hispanic actor, singer, dancer and soccer athlete. She's also performed at Bainbridge Performing Arts Theater production of Matilda as the lead role "Matilda", The 5th Avenue Theatre's production of Annie as "Molly" and various Kitsap County venues such as Kitsap Forest Theater, Central Stage (CSTOCK) and Admiral Theatre.
