PEAR SLICES 2021 Opens April 30

Returning each spring, the annual short-play showcase Pear Slices offers up a selection of original, short plays from the members of the Pear Playwrights Guild. PEAR SLICES 2020 Festival Digital Edition Begins May 15

With the craziness of recent weeks in the Bay Area and the world at large, small pieces of normality seem more precious. Pear Theatre is proud to announce its annual Pear Slices short-play showcase, directed by Troy Johnson and Betsy Kruse Craig, re-imagined to be COVID-compliant. Pear Slices 2020, a collection of original, one-act plays from members of the Pear Playwrights Guild, will for the first time ever be presented as a filmed-live video, accessible online beginning May 15. 

FRESH PRODUCE Comes to Pear Theatre

Pear Theatre, always a champion of new plays by local playwrights, presents a?oeFresh Producea??: staged readings of two new plays under development from members of the Pear Playwrights Guild. a?oeThe Queen's Cookies, or Cymbeline Simplifieda?? by Carol Wolf, and a?oeMothers of the Bridea?? by Meghan Maugeri will be performed by local actors on Friday evening and Saturday afternoon at the Pear Theatre, 1110 La Avenida St., Mountain View. Theatre Bay Area, one of the largest regional performing arts service organizations in North America, has announced the finalists of the 2019 TBA Awards. The sixth-annual TBA Awards Celebration will take place on Monday, Nov. 4 at the Herbst Theatre (401 Van Ness Avenue, San Francisco).

SWEAT Comes to Pear Theatre

Blue collar rage and the shifting of America's self-image are at the heart of Lynn Nottage's 'Sweat,' opening at Pear Theatre in October. Directed by Caroline Clark, 'Sweat' previews on October 17, with press and Opening Night on Friday, October 18, followed by a champagne gala. Pear Theatre To Present World Premiere Of SOJURN In March

Pear Theatre continues its season with the World Premiere of "Sojourn" by playwright Evan Kokkila-Schumacher, directed by Caroline Clark. Set in the later half of this century, "Sojourn" follows two astronauts on a life-long mission into the cosmos. "Sojourn" previews on March 14, with press and Opening Night on Friday, March 15 (followed by a champagne gala).
