“A volcanic, quasi-operatic punk rock beat that captures the sense of female rage… and feels custom-made for the current climate." -- Chicago Sun Times
Summertime, 1892. A small town in Massachusetts. Lizzie Borden's father and stepmother are murdered with an axe, and Lizzie herself is the primary suspect. However, after a muddy and confusing investigation, Lizzie was acquitted. What exactly happened, no one will ever know.
Lizzie: The Musical combines the spine-tingling deep-dive of a true crime podcast with a rock-and-roll edge that rivals Hedwig and Spring Awakening before it. Led by director Rachel Mink and the incredible team at Wildsong, prepare yourself for an unforgettable night with some of the best local theater talent San Diego has to offer.
The theater itself is a black box that houses less than a hundred seats, promising a gritty, intimate, epic rock concert. As Mink herself put it: "Our casts will melt your faces off, break your hearts, and then lift you back up with the hope that 'maybe someday' things will be better."
Lizzie will be running for two weekends, from 4/19 to 4/28. Thursday, Friday, and Saturday shows begin at 8:00pm, while Sunday shows begin at 6:00pm.
Tickets can be purchased on our website at www.wildsongproductions.com
