A beloved holiday tradition will return to People’s Light with the world premiere of Alice in Wonderland: A Musical Panto. Alice in Wonderland: A Musical Panto runs November 16 through January 1 on the Leonard C. Haas Stage.
Following their recent leadership transition in which Producing Artistic Director Zak Berkman succeeded former Executive Artistic Director Abigail Adams, People’s Light has announce an exciting expansion of their artistic team with four new appointments. Broadway-favorite Steve H. Broadnax III (Thoughts of a Colored Man) transitions from Resident Director to People’s Light Associate Artistic Director.
People’s Light will present Bayard Rustin Inside Ashland, the world premiere of a play with music inspired by the true story of West Chester, PA native Bayard Rustin. Chief organizer of the 1963 March on Washington and openly gay Civil Rights activist, Bayard Rustin was nearly written out of the history books.
Casting has been announced for the People's Light World Premiere production of Personality: The Lloyd Price Musical, celebrating the life, career and unforgettable songs of trailblazing Rock & Roll Hall of Fame legend, Lloyd Price (1933-2021).

Steve H. Broadnax III joins the artistic leadership of People's Light as Resident Director.
People's Light has commissioned a series of digital projects in solidarity with those protesting systemic racism, anti-Black violence, and nationwide inaction regarding police brutality.
After opening to rave reviews in June, the world premiere of Mud Row is extended through August 4th at People's Light. The theatre will host a book signing with playwright Dominique Morisseau in their Steinbright Stage lobby from 1 to 1:30pm before the final 2pm performance on Sunday, August 4th. People's Light presents Mud Row, a world premiere play by recent Tony Award nominee Dominique Morisseau (Ain't Too Proud - The Life and Times of the Temptations). Two generations of sisters navigate class, race, love, and family on "Mud Row," an area in the East End of West Chester, Pennsylvania.
