Broadway Divas, Tribute Artists And Community Events Scheduled In March And April For Bucks County Playhouse

Tributes to Carole King, Jerry Lee Lewis, Linda Ronstadt and James Taylor, along with other musical performances and special events, complete Bucks County Playhouse's Spring Visiting Artists Series. Bucks County Playhouse's Visiting Artist Series represents one of the few times on the calendar when outside producers take the stage to showcase their work. Renowned and unique performers from across the country - and around the globe - join local favorites for a lineup of crowd-pleasing fare that run through the end of the year. Here is the overview of the schedule with details below:

Great Balls of Fire: A Jerry Lee Lewis Tribute

March 4 at 2 pm and 8 pm; and March 5 at 2 pm

After playing Jerry Lee Lewis in Million Dollar Quartet in over 80 cities, Jason Cohen brings his ivory-smashing, high-energy performance to a new theatrical concert. Alongside his multi-talented, multi-instrumentalist band of singer-musicians, the audience will be quickly reminded of the power of those tunes. Featuring songs of Lewis's contemporaries such as Elvis, Cash, and Buddy, as well as the New Orleans and gospel traditionals that inspired Lewis.

Rockabilly Rumble

March 11 at 3 pm and 8 pm

Get ready to Shake, Rattle and Roll with this one-of-a-kind, high-octane rockabilly concert experience! "Rockabilly Rumble" will have you dancing in your Blue Suede Shoes to all the songs you know and love - and a few you haven't heard of! Featuring members of the hit show "Million Dollar Quartet Christmas," pile your hair up high and grab your Tom Collins for a rock n' roll night you'll never forget!


Elizabeth Ward Land

"Still Within The Sound of My Voice: The Songs of Linda Ronstadt"

March 18 at 8 pm

Broadway veteran Elizabeth Ward Land ("Amazing Grace," "Memphis," "The Scarlet Pimpernel") stars in "Still Within the Sound of My Voice: The Songs of Linda Ronstadt." The winner of 2020 Bistro Award, touches on genres ranging from rock, country, folk, light opera, big band, and mariachi.

New Hope Celebrates Pride Pageant 2023

March 25 at 7 pm

The New Hope Celebrates (NHC) Pride Pageant makes a triumphant return in 2023! Drag queens and, for the first time ever, drag kings will compete for the coveted title of Ms. & Mr. New Hope Celebrates.

Carter Calvert in Natural Woman: A Carole King Celebration

April 1 at 2 pm

Broadway star ("Cats", "Smokey Joe's Cafe," "Forbidden Broadway" and the Tony-nominated "It Ain't Nothin' But The Blues"), BCP favorite ("Always...Patsy Cline," "Viva La Diva!," "Walkin' After Midnight: A Tribute to Patsy Cline") and a chart-topping recording artist ("It's A Man's World; Carter Calvert & The Roger Cohen Trio"), Carter Calvert captures Carole King's musical stylings pitch-perfectly in mega hits including "I Feel the Earth Move," "Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow," "You've Got A Friend" and "Natural Woman." Miss Calvert is backed by the dynamic Roger Cohen Band.

Sweet Baby James: The #1 James Taylor Tribute

April 8 at 2 pm and 8 pm

America's #1 James Taylor tribute artist Bill Griese visits from Nashville with his acclaimed "Sweet Baby James" show. Griese presents the timeless music of the 6-time Grammy winner, with a performance you have to hear to believe! Not your typical tribute band fare and not a "look-alike" impersonator, Griese brings the songs & stories of Taylor in a refreshingly authentic way - using only his spot-on vocals and skillful guitar playing. It's a natural & respectful homage to an American original.

A Day in the Life: A Beatles Experience

April 14 at 8 pm and April 15 at 2 pm and 8 pm

A Day in the Life takes audiences on a multi-sensory journey back to the turbulent decade of the 1960s. The Beatles' entire groundbreaking career, from Ed Sullivan to Abbey Road, is recreated through five costume changes while a stunning video backdrop depicts the highs and lows of the era. Experience The Beatles like never before as" A Day in the Life" recreates more than thirty Beatles songs, many of which were never performed live, right before your eyes!
