The Lyric Hammersmith Theatre is proud to announce SPRINGBOARD, a ground-breaking, free two-year training programme that aims to find, shape, inspire, champion and sustain the next generation of performers from underrepresented backgrounds.

Let’s face it- theatre can be hard. It’s hard when you’re a writer, it’s hard when you’re an actor, it’s hard when you’re a director, it’s hard when you’re a designer, and everything in between. When you’re an artist, you’re constantly working emotionally, mentally, and physically, and the work doesn’t always feel rewarding. After all, we create to make ourselves heard and seen, and how does it feel when the art we create is glossed over, dismissed, and ignored? How does it feel when the art that is being put forward doesn’t reflect us? Theatre truly is for everybody, so why is it so hard for trans and genderqueer theatre artists (even today!) to find their place? The reality of it is, there’s no excuse for why the works of trans and non-binary theatre artists are not given enough recognition. The best way to get that work out there, in all honesty, is to just keep going.

Throughout the month of October The Royal Opera House will present live-streamed performances featuring artists from both The Royal Ballet and The Royal Opera, alongside a range of archival content and dedicated social media takeovers from our global community of Black creatives and performers. 

The Peggy Ramsay Foundation with Film4 and the Maria Bjornson Memorial Fund are delighted to announce the six winners of the Peggy Ramsay/Film4 Awards which celebrate and support emerging British writing talent.  

Artistic Directors of the Future will be presenting outstanding events this Autumn, with collaborations with the arts industries finest. English National Opera and the National Theatre will be working with ADF to present two brand new Routes In events. These online, informative talks and Q & A sessions will provide insight into professional development opportunities and initiatives that both organisations have to offer to new and established arts professionals and creatives.

Sedos will stage Working at the Bridewell Theatre this autumn (26-30 October), the first full musical the company has produced since before the Covid-19 lockdown.

Based on Studs Terkel's 1970's best-selling book of interviews with American workers, WORKING paints a vivid portrait of the men and women the world so often takes for granted: the schoolteacher, the waitress, the millworker, the mason, and the housewife, just to name a few.

Ford's Theatre today announced the launch of The Lincoln Legacy Commissions—a new play development initiative for BIPOC (Black, Indigenous and People of Color) playwrights that explores racial history and social justice in the United States and gives voice to lesser-known historical figures and their contributions to American life. Playwrights Pearl Cleage, Rickerby Hinds, Nambi E. Kelley, Dominic Taylor and Charlayne Woodard comprise the inaugural writers of The Lincoln Legacy Commissions.

Broadway opens again in a few weeks, concerts are being scheduled again, and The Alliance is performing WORKING: A MUSICAL – the theatre is coming back soon! While we may not be back in front of a velvet curtain yet, WORKING: A MUSICAL under the tent teases normalcy while delivering a Coca-Cola Stage-worthy performance.

TPS Talks are a new initiative of TPS, DTE and SistaStyle Productions that provide real-world stories and insights from working theatre professionals to college/university classrooms, corporate events, group organizations, and more.

Bucks County Playhouse's acclaimed education program encourages children, teens and adults to explore their creativity through a wide variety of online classes for Spring 2021. The current roster of classes includes: Acting for Adults, Broadway Dance Workshops, Improv for Adults, Writers Workshop and Writing and Performing Your Own Solo Show.
