Just last night, A Bronx Tale opened at the Longacre Theatre (220 West 48thStreet). The new musical, featuring a book by Academy Award nominee Chazz Palminteri, music by Oscar, Grammy, and Tony Award winner Alan Menken, and lyrics by Grammy Award winner and Oscar and Tony Award nominee Glenn Slater, co-directed by two-time Oscar winner Robert De Niro and four-time Tony Award winner Jerry Zaks, with choreography by Tony nominee Sergio Trujillo, began performances on Thursday, November 3. AMC announced today that the network will premiere the historical mafia docu-drama THE MAKING OF THE MOB: CHICAGO tonight, July 11 at 10 p.m. ET/PT.

Union County Performing Arts Center is offering a special package for film lovers who purchase tickets to upcoming  screenings of Cecil B. DeMille's silent epic King of Kings on March 6 and the 35th Asbury Short Film Concert on May 13. Seven stars of HBO's hit series, The Sopranos, will join with legends of rock to present a fundraising evening of theater and music in honor of actor and firefighter Jack Ferry, a beloved member of the Renegade company, who died recently at age 45. All proceeds from the event will go to the John Augustus Ferry College Fund, named for his young son. The event takes place at The Cutting Room, 44 E 32nd St, on Monday, November 2nd at 7pm.

 Merged Work Productions (Lead Producers) and Jack Thomas (Executive Producer) announced today that music-world icons and television stars Steven Van Zandt and Paul Shaffer, along with Maureen Van Zandt and Joe Grano (Jersey Boys), have joined the Broadway-bound musical Piece of My Heart: The Bert Berns Story as lead producers.  It was also announced that Mr. Van Zandt will serve as the show's musical director.  Piece of My Heart will open on Broadway in 2016.
