Music Academy Of The West Announces 75th Anniversary Summer Festival

The Music Academy has revealed its ambitious plans for the 75th Anniversary Summer Festival. This milestone year has been propelled by three sold-out concerts by the London Symphony Orchestra in March and three Competition Winners recitals in April.

The Oratorio Society of New York, led by Music Director Kent Tritle, presents Mendelssohn's iconic Elijah on Monday, May 9, 2022 at 8:00pm at Stern Auditorium / Perelman Stage at Carnegie Hall. Featured artists include soprano Susanna Phillips, mezzo-soprano Lucia Bradford, tenor Isaiah Bell, baritone Justin Austin, treble Zachary Whalen, and the Orchestra of the Society, with Kent Tritle conducting.
George London Award Winners Announced

The winners of the 50th George London Foundation Competition for young American and Canadian opera singers were announced at the conclusion of the competition’s final round this evening, which took place at Gilder Lehrman Hall at The Morgan Library & Museum in New York City. While the event is usually held with in-person audience, this year’s audience was virtual. Susanna Phillips, international opera star and 2005 George London Award winner, was the livestream host.

The Metropolitan Opera today announced its 2022–23 season, which features seven new productions, the most in ten seasons.
