MTV today revealed the nominees for the “2016 MTV Movie Awards,” setting the stage for the 25th anniversary of the ultimate celebration of blockbuster movies and the fans who love them.

Queen of Comedy Melissa McCarthy “in her funniest movie yet” (Leonard Maltin, LeonardMaltin.com) embarks on the mission of a lifetime as secret agent Susan Cooper in SPY.

Behind every devilishly good-looking spy is a strong, frumpy woman. Behind the debonair and conceited Bradley Fine (Jude Law) is dowdy desk jockey cum CIA analyst Susan Cooper (McCarthy). Cooper is so smitten and preoccupied with the fantasy version of Fine in her head that she can't see how daft and self-involved he is. Nor can she see how smart and caring she is.

Melissa McCarthy stars in the new action-comedy SPY. SPY was written and directed by Paul Feig, best known for his work on BRIDESMAIDS, THE HEAT, and I AM DAVID. 

MTV today announced that Jessie J will bring her signature style and unmatchable sense of cool to burn up the red carpet of the '2015 MTV Movie Awards' as she hosts the spectacular Pre-Show airing LIVE tonight, April 12 at 7:30 p.m. ET.

Variety reports that Melissa McCarthy will return as host of NBC's SNL for Super Bowl weekend on February 1. This will be her third time hosting the sketch show. The comedy star last hosted in April 2013. No word yet on who the musical guest will be on the 1st.

According to Deadline, the studio's planned reboot of the Marvel franchise has been bumped from its original March 6, 2015 release to June 19. Produced by Matthew Vaughn, the film will be directed by Josh Trank, and features a reworked script by Simon Kinberg.
