Middletown's Wayside Theatre to Highlight Local Teens in THE TEMPEST, 4/19-20

Wayside Theatre's Spring Emerging Artist production will be The Tempest by William Shakespeare, in cooperation with Barns of Rose Hill in Berryville, VA. It will be held on April 19 at 7:30pm and April 20th at 2:30pm and 8:00pm. This production will be directed by Wayside Theatre Education Director, Molly MacLagan, and comes as part of Wayside Theatre's 'Education and the Arts' month. The cast and crew features students from Clarke, Warren, Frederick, and Shenandoah Counties, as well as West Virginia.

Wayside Theatre Artistic Director, Warner Crocker, announced the cast and schedule for The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, the last show of Wayside's 51st Season. This show was conceived by Rebecca Feldman, with music and lyrics by William Finn, book by Rachel Sheinkin, and additional material by Jay Reiss. This production is sponsored by WVPT - Your Source for PBS and More and TV3-Winchester.

After struggling mightily with fiscal challenges that beset Virginia's second oldest professional theatre since the economic crash of 2008, Wayside Theatre's Board of Directors today announces new plans for going forward. The plans include unprecedented hands-on efforts by the Board of Directors in the areas of marketing and fundraising, as well as a new level of transparency with Wayside Theatre supporters and the community about how those plans progress.
