La Mirada Theatre for the Performing Arts and McCoy Rigby Entertainment have announced the cast for the second show of their 2022-2023 season, the rarely produced and widely acclaimed military masterpiece A FEW GOOD MEN, written by Aaron Sorkin and directed by Casey Stangl.

On Friday, October 7 at 7 PM, The Violin Channel will present the world premiere of A Year to the Day, a dramatic song cycle with music by acclaimed composer Lembit Beecher and lyrics by librettist/lyricist Mark Campbell.

General Director and CEO Deborah Sandler today announced the selection of the artists for the Resident Artist Program for the 2022-2023 season.

Librettist Lila Palmer and Director Chloe Treat join forces this summer on the World Premiere production of HOLY GROUND at the 2022 Glimmerglass Festival. The opera by Damien Geter and Palmer will be performed as part of a “Double Bill” along with Kamala Sankaram and Jerry Dye’s TAKING UP SERPENTS, also directed by Treat.

Tickets are still available for the concert presented by The Riverside Opera Ensemble at Merkin Hall featuring Tony nominee Christiane Noll (Ragtime) and Nathan R. Matthews who is producing as well as performing in the show. 

The concert will feature a NYYS First Music Commission from Liza Sobel Crane, titled (E)merging Dances, and Mahler's Songs of a Wayfarer, featuring Edward Parks, baritone. The performance will conclude with Brahms's Symphony No. 2 in D Major, Op 73.

Bristol Riverside Theatre will close its season with a chance to see Hollywood notable Aaron Sorkin’s groundbreaking debut that tells the story of a group of military lawyers assigned to defend two Marines in Guantanamo Bay.

MainStage Irving-Las Colinas has announced their 2022-2023 season to be produced and performed in the Dupree Theater of the Irving Arts Center. This season features five main productions each running for three weekends – Gypsy, Ada and the Engine, Intimate Apparel, The Light in the Piazza, and The Underpants.  

On Saturday night, Version 2.0 of the Mason Bates-Mark Campbell opera, THE (R)EVOLUTION OF STEVE JOBS, opened brilliantly as a mainstage production of the Atlanta Opera, in its East Coast premiere, under Tomer Zvulun’s taut direction and Michael Christie’s smart baton. To say the audience greeted the work joyfully would be an understatement.

The Atlanta Opera is presenting the Southeast premiere of The (R)evolution of Steve Jobs, the opera that won Mason Bates and Mark Campbell a 2019 Grammy Award, in a new production from General & Artistic Director Tomer Zvulun. The opera runs through May 8.  

The magical intersection between music and technology has been a central tenet of composer Mason Bates' career: from his Grammy-winning opera The (R)evolution of Steve Jobs to his work as a DJ and curator for series including San Francisco's Mercury Soul, and KC Jukebox at the Kennedy Center. Philharmonia Fantastique: The Making of the Orchestra is no exception.
