Building on the momentum garnered by two groundbreaking seasons, the Harbor Stage Company returns to its iconic seaside home for another summer of challenging live performance.

The Nominating Committee of the Independent Reviewers of New England has just announced nominees for the 2014 IRNE Awards. The Independent Reviewers of New England (IRNE) Awards, founded by Beverly Creasey of the Journal Newspapers and Larry Stark of TheaterMirror in 1997, recognize the extraordinary wealth of talent in the Boston theatre community.

INSIGNIFICANCE is a slight play populated with four iconic characters that have held great significance in American culture. Director Daniel Gidron draws impressive performances from his cast without resorting to caricature or imitation. Stacy Fischer is worth the price of admission.

Following the completion of their second intrepid season, Wellfleet's Harbor Stage Company will bring their much lauded production of Anton Chekhov's The Seagull to Boston's Modern Theatre at Suffolk University. The five performance Limited Engagement transfer will run tonight, September 19th through Sunday, September 22nd and marks the acclaimed ensemble's first appearance beyond the shores of Cape Cod.

The tempestuous drama will be directed by acclaimed theater artist Jeff Zinn and feature performances by Artistic Director Robert Kropf, co-founders Stacy Fischer and Jonathan Fielding, and Outer Cape actor Tom Brogan in his Harbor Stage debut.

Created in conjunction with this year's 250th Anniversary of Wellfleet's founding, the play offers a surreal, compassionate look at a town's attempts to recreate the past and forecast the future.
