After a widespread computer glitch in the U.S. State Department caused delays to countless international visas across the globe, U.K. actress Isobel Pravda finally arrived in New York to reprise her acclaimed performance in the American premiere of the award-winning Czech stage drama The Good and the True at Off-Broadway's DR2 Theatre (103 E. 15th St.). Ms. Pravda, who originated the role of her grandmother -- Holocaust survivor Hana Pravda -- in the play's U.K. and Belgium touring productions last year, arrived earlier this week in-time for the 7 p.m. Opening Night performance. Direct from celebrated tours in the United Kingdom and Belgium, the award-winning Czech stage drama THE GOOD AND THE TRUE -- starring Isobel Pravda and Saul Reichlin -- will have its American premiere this summer at Off-Broadway's DR2 Theatre (103 E. 15th St.). Conceived and originally produced under the auspices of Prague's acclaimed leading repertory theatre Svandovo Divadlo, THE GOOD AND THE TRUE will play an eight-week limited engagement beginning tonight, July 24, 2014 with an official opening on Sunday, August 3. Tony Award-winners Chita Rivera and Karen Ziemba, Norman Norman Jewison, Academy Award-winning director of the 1971 film version of Fiddler on the Roof (Irving Thalberg Award Recipient), and Ambassador Ido Aharoni, Counsul General of Israel, have joined the lineup of Raising the Roof, an all-star benefit concert celebrating the 100th anniversary of The National Yiddish Theatre - Folksbiene, the 50th Anniversary of iconic American musical, Fiddler on the Roof, and the 90th birthday of its Pulitzer Prize- and Tony-winning lyricist, Sheldon Harnick, on Monday, June 9, 2014 at 7:30 p.m. at New York's The Town Hall (123 West 43rd Street).

White Theatre Announces 10th Anniversary Season, Including FIDDLER ON THE ROOF and SHREK

The hit musical Fiddler on the Roof will open the 10th season at the White Theatre. A partnership with The Theatre in the Park, Shrek,will close it. And there will be all sorts of variety in between, announced JCC Director of Cultural Arts Krista Blackwood. "Fiddler on the Roof and Shrek will make great bookends to our 10th season in the Lewis and Shirley White Theatre," Blackwood said.
