Ars Nova Sets 9th Annual ANT Fest Lineup, Kicking Off 6/6

Ars Nova, New York's incubator for boundary-pushing theater, is pleased to announce the line-up for its 9th Annual ANT Fest, which features new work from 42 trail-blazing artists over a four-week festival, June 6-30. This celebration of new, independent live entertainment is a prime destination for an eclectic mix of brand new shows from some of the most intrepid, adventurous artists in New York City.

2016 at Ars Nova (Jason Eagan, Artistic Director; Renee Blinkwolt, Managing Director) will include two Off-Broadway productions: the world premiere of The Wildness, Sky-Pony's Rock Fairy Tale directed by Tony-nominee Sam Buntrock, written by and featuring Brooklyn-based band Sky-Pony, fronted by Lauren Worsham (Drama Desk Award winner and Tony nominee) with songs penned by Kyle Jarrow (Obie Award winner) and presented in collaboration with The Play Company; and the New York premiere of Underground Railroad Game created and performed by Jennifer Kidwell and Scott Sheppard in association with Lightning Rod Special; SHOWGASM XXL, a one-night-only 'gasm so big it won't fit in the Ars Nova building, hosted by John Early and featuring Ars Nova All Stars as well as celebrity guests to be announced; and ANT Fest, a new adventure every night with the next wave of Ars Nova's breakthrough artists during four nonstop weeks of wild comedy, music and theater mash-ups.

This June, Brat Productions gives you dinner theatre like you've never experienced it before. The Last Plot in Revenge is a spaghetti western, dinner theatre, musical - with the signature Brat twist of mixed genres, surprising collaborations and rock star talent. Up-and-coming local playwright Brian Grace-Duff takes you to Revenge, Montana, a land where the wild rule, the whiskey runs, the whores are tired, the guns are smokin' - and there is only one cemetery plot left in the whole town. Let the Scrapfields and the MacGruels duke it out, because when the Nameless Gunman enters, who knows who will be left standing? After all, revenge is a dish best served with a plate of spaghetti.

Pig Iron School Inaugural Class Graduates Today

The Pig Iron School for Advanced Performance Training (or APT), a two-year program designed to give performers a comprehensive immersion in the world of ensemble- devised and physical theatre, will graduate its first class of 15 students today, June 7, 2013. The graduation will be preceded by showings of student-created work on June 4-6 at Christ Church Neighborhood House for the Performing Arts (7:30 each night), which are free and open to the public.
