Tony Award nominee Maria Dizzia will star in the first two stops of the national tour of Heidi Schreck's Tony Award nominated play and Pulitzer Prize finalist What the Constitution Means to Me, directed by Oliver Butler. It's common for the Kennedy Center to be a stop for national tours of current or recently closed Broadway shows, but it's a bit of a rarity for it to be a stop for a show that's truly a?oedirect from Broadway.a?? There's no misleading advertising here. While Heidi Schreck's highly personal Tony Award-nominated play 'What the Constitution Means to Me' will embark on a national tour in the near future, the Kennedy Center's offering is unique because it stars the original Broadway cast, including Tony Award nominee Ms. Schreck herself. To that end, the timely show, directed by Oliver Butler, is absolutely worth a look.

BroadwayWorld has learned that WHAT THE CONSTITUTION MEANS TO ME is being recorded today for eventual future release. 

The two-time Tony Award-nominated, Pulitzer Prize Finalist, and Obie Award-winning Best New American Play What the Constitution Means to Me has achieved full recoupment of its $2.5 million capitalization with the week ending July 14th, and will deliver a full return of capital to its investors with six weeks remaining in the Broadway engagement.

Heidi Schreck is currently starring in her own play, What the Constitution Means to Me, on Broadway, after a tranfer from New York Theatre Workshop. The play received two Tony nominations, both for Schreck as a playwright and as an actress. The Obie winning actress sat down with amNewYork to discuss her whirlwind year and what is next for her.

The Tony Award nominated play and Pulitzer Prize finalist What the Constitution Means to Me is proud to announce a new partnership with The Mayor's Fund to launch the NYC Civics and Arts Fund that will subsidize tickets for hundreds of students through the rest of the show's Broadway run through August 24, 2019.

Initially announced for a 12-week engagement through June 9, 2019, What the Constitution Means to Me previously extended through July 21, 2019 and will now play five additional weeks through August 24, 2019 at the Helen Hayes Theater (240 W 44th Street, New York, NY), for a total run of 24 weeks. What the Constitution Means to Me officially opened March 31, 2019 after beginning preview performances March 14.
