Thought-provoking dramas, inspirational stories, heartwarming tales and comedies are all a part of Hershey Area Playhouse's 2018 season.

Gettysburg Community Theatre, the non-profit 501c3 organization located in the original Elks Lodge building at 49 York Street within the first block of Lincoln Square in historic downtown Gettysburg, will present Civil War Voices weekends July 14-30, 2017.

GOOD MORNING, THEATERATI! It's Wednesday, May 24, 2017! How do we know this, you might ask? Well, we spent last evening at TPAC'S Andrew Jackson Hall, soaking up every possible bit of Carole King: The Beautiful Musical - wait, it's the other way around - Beautiful: The Carole King Musical and despite the earworm known as 'One Fine Day,' we are still floating on the inspiration and memories of opening night.

The Vagabond Players announces its 102nd season of continuous production. This season is packed with classic to cutting edge drama, music and comedy.

Listening to the original Broadway cast album of Jerry Herman's 1969 entry, DEAR WORLD, it's almost unimaginable to think you're hearing the score of a show that shuttered on Broadway after less than four months worth of performances.

Stage Manager is Kimothy Cruse, with Assistant Stage Manager Shanna Allison. Directed by Michael Montel(director of twenty preview Musicals in Mufti presentations including Dear World, Take Me Along, and A Time for Singing), with music direction by Christopher McGovern (Cagney). Historian and author, Noah Andre Trudeau has recently been selected to receive the prestigious 2016 Award of Achievement from the Lincoln Group of New York for his new book, Lincoln's Greatest Journey: Sixteen Days that Changed a Presidency, March 24 - April 8, 1865. The award committee's vote was unanimous, according to the Lincoln Group's president Steven R. Koppelman. 'The Award is presented annually to the individual or organization that has done the most to encourage the study and appreciation of Abraham Lincoln,' explained Koppelman. 'In making this award, The Lincoln Group of New York recognizes Lincoln's Greatest Journey as a superb work of research, expertly written, which details an aspect of the Lincoln presidency that has been little studied and a much needed in-depth work.' He went on to state that prior award winners include Doris Kearns Goodwin, Eric Foner, Harold Holzer, and screenwriter Tony Kushner. 'It is a wonderful and humbling honor to receive this prestigious Award of Achievement for Lincoln's Greatest Journey,' said Trudeau. 'It is a special feeling to read the list of past winners along with the memorable books they wrote and to realize my effort is now counted among them. My thanks to the members of the Lincoln Group of New York for making this selection.' Pegasus Theatre Chicago is proud to announce the authors and plays being presented at the 30th Young Playwrights Festival, January 4 - 29 at Pegasus's resident home Chicago Dramatists, 773 N. Aberdeen. This year's world premieres, written by high school students and given a staged professional production, explore the theme of "Assumptions." Each winning production is performed in tandem Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30 p.m. with weekday student matinees.
