If there were a Tony Award category for 'Best Dance Shoes', the most likely nominee (and winner) would be Broadway shoe designer Phil LaDuca. This season alone his custom-made shoes are trotting the boards in a batch of new shows including Shuffle Along, Tuck Everlasting, She Loves Me, and the upcoming New York Spring Spectacular starring the Rockettes. His trendy dance shoes were also worn in the hit movie musical, Chicago, and in Katy Perry's acclaimed performance in last year's Super Bowl XLIX halftime show.

Meredith Willson's beloved family musical, THE MUSIC MAN, returns to the stage in an all-new concert staging starring the Marian of the classic film, Academy Award winner Shirley Jones, who will not only essay the role of Mrs. Paroo, but will serve as host and narrator. She will be joined on stage by her son, Patrick Cassidy as Prof. Harold Hill. A little known bit of Hollywood history: Shirley was pregnant with Patrick during the filming of The Music Man. Performances begin, appropriately enough, in Willson's home town (and model for River City) Mason City, Iowa tonight, September 18th.

Falco Named to Northport Board

Edie Falco, star of the HBO series 'The Sopranos,' has been named to the Northport Performing Arts Center (NPAC) advisory board. NPAC Founder Jerome Vivona announced her appointment Saturday evening at a fundraising event for the Center, where $6,500 was raised.
