Ojai Playwrights Conference has announced 11 playwrights for the 25th Anniversary New Works Festival taking place August 7-14, 2022, in Ojai, CA, marking a return to in-person workshops and live performances after two years of working online.

LookOut, Steppenwolf Theatre's popular performance series that presents the work of artists and companies across genre and form, proudly announces its Summer 2022 season, featuring a riotously eclectic lineup of performances spanning the gamut of music, drag, storytelling and more.

The Tony Awards Administration Committee will present the 2022 Tony Honors for Excellence in the Theatre to five outstanding contributors to the Broadway industry - the Asian American Performers Action Coalition (AAPAC); Broadway For All; music copyist, Emily Grishman; Feinstein's/54 Below and United Scenic Artists, Local USA 829, IATSE.

The Broadway revival of Ntozake Shange's for colored girls who have considered suicide/ when the rainbow is enuf, directed and choreographed by Tony Award nominee Camille A. NAATCO (National Asian American Theatre Company) is presenting the world premiere production of OUT OF TIME at The Public Theater. OUT OF TIME is written by Jaclyn Backhaus, Sam Chanse, Mia Chung, Naomi Iizuka, and Anna Ouyang Moench, Commissioned and Produced by NAATCO, and Conceived and Directed by Les Waters. This world premiere opened just last night and runs through Sunday, March 13.

The Public and The National Asian American Theatre Company (NAATCO) join forces in presenting OUT OF TIME, a collection of brand-new monologues by five award-winning Asian American playwrights, performed by an ensemble of actors all over the age of 60.

Casting has been announced for BARD AT THE GATE’s production of Lloyd Suh’s comedy about Asian-Americans in popular culture, CHARLES FRANCIS CHAN JR.’S EXOTIC ORIENTAL MURDER MYSTERY with FREE access for 24 hours starting JANUARY 26 at 7:30 p.m., according to the series producer Rosey Strub.

Hairspray Tony-winner Marc Shaiman will score Billy Eichner's new gay rom-com. Shaiman has also written the score for films like South Park, The First Wives Club, The American President, Sleepless in Seattle, Broadcast News, When Harry Met Sally, Beaches, City Slickers, The Addams Family, A Few Good Men, Sister Act, and George of the Jungle.

Harvey Fierstein has joined the cast of Bros, co-written and starring Billy Eichner. Featuring an all LGBTQIA+ cast, Bros has also added SNL star Bowen Yang. Previously announced for the film are Jim Rash, Eve Lindley, D’Lo Srijaerajah, Peter Kim, Justin Covington, Dot-Marie Jones and Becca Blackwell.

Ma-Yi Theater Company has announced its 2021–2022 season which includes a return to in-person  events as well as four digital premieres. The season, running September 2, 2021 – March 31, 2022, illustrates how theatrical innovation and powerful storytelling can thrive as the industry finds a safe way back to in-person events. 

NAATCO will present a virtual reading of Our Town by Thornton Wilder with an all-Asian American cast for one night only, Wednesday May 19th, at 8pm, in celebration of Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month. The proceeds of this reading will benefit the company.

Join Crazy Woke Asians outdoor comedy show at The Comedy Chateau in North Hollywood for a night of laughter!

NAATCO, today announced that the company has commissioned five Asian American playwrights, all women, to write monologues for characters no younger than 60-years-old. Each monologue will be at least 30 minutes long, and all five will be performed together as a piece entitled Out of Time.

Classic Stage Company today announced its Fall 2020 season, in which it scales up two timely new CSC producing initiatives while New York City theaters must remain closed.

Season 2 of After Forever picks up 6 months after Season 1 ended. Brian (2019 Emmy Award winner, Kevin Spirtas) is dating David (Mike McGowan) with whom he was set up at the end of Season 1 by his late husband's parents, Frannie and Carl (2019 Emmy Award nominee Anita Gillette, and Lenny Wolpe).
