PNC Broadway in Kansas City hass announced that single tickets will go on sale Friday, October 7 at 10:00 a.m. for the Music Hall engagement of PRETTY WOMAN: THE MUSICAL.

The national tour of PRETTY WOMAN: THE MUSICAL lands at the Saenger Theatre, running October 4 through October 9. The beloved ’90s rom-com directed by Garry Marshall comes to the stage with some updates, musical twists and a lot of love.

Pretty Woman The Musical – the latest offering in the 2022-23 Broadway at TPAC Series – is one of those shows that almost defies explanation and proves even more difficult to review. (Case in point: I’ve rewritten that sentence 758 times in the past 22 hours and it’s still not “singing,” is it?) Pretty Woman The Musical is a pleasant enough diversion, entertaining even, but there is little in the show’s first act to convince most people that the 1990 rom com, which starred Julia Roberts and Richard Gere, needed to be transformed into a glitzy and glittering Broadway musical (a term we use loosely in this case), with Olivia Valli and Adam Pascal in the leading roles.

What did our critic think of PRETTY WOMAN, THE MUSICAL at Denver Center for the Performing Arts? Listen, If Julia Roberts is involved, I'm involved. But what in the world is Pretty Woman, The Musical? Having say through the show recently I can honestly say it felt like a fever dream with tits, ass, and Adam Pascal.

PRETTY WOMAN: THE MUSICAL has announced the extension of the tour through May 7, 2023, with the final scheduled engagement taking place in Sacramento, CA. Fresh from its three-week stop at the Dolby Theater in Hollywood, the first national tour of PRETTY WOMAN - THE MUSICAL---based on that hit 1990 movie about a Hollywood hooker who finds true love---has made the short drive to OC's Segerstrom Center for the Arts in Costa Mesa for a two-week engagement ending July 17, 2022.

The highly anticipated original concept album for Kalevala The Musical (book, music, and lyrics by Johanna Telander) celebrates its release today, June 24. The album features orchestrations by Finnish virtuoso Marko Hilpo, and is mixed by Jay Alton at Alton Audio, and mastered by Brian Lucey at Magic Garden Mastering.

What did our critic think? Audiences can’t help but compare and contrast, especially when the production is jumping through hoops to remind us of what made the film special. That becomes a bigger problem when the show itself fails on its own merits. While remaining faithful to its source material, PRETTY WOMAN lacks all of the fizz that made the film such a sensation.

The national tour of Pretty Woman: The Musical lands at the Dolby Theatre beginning June 15, 2022, for its Los Angeles Premiere, followed by a run at Segerstrom July 5th -July 17th. Jerry Mitchell directs the cast led by Adam Pascal and Olivia Valli. I got a chance to pepper Olivia with a few questions on her Pretty Woman journey.
