New Jersey Repertory Company (NJ Rep) is presenting the world premiere of 'F Theory,' a funny, poignant, and uniquely thought-provoking play about the power and complexity of lifelong friendship. The show is on the Long Branch Stage through September 24. Directed by Ethan Heard, the play is co-written by, and stars Megan Loughran and Alex Trow. Led by Founding Artistic Director Katherine Kovner and Producing Director Roberta Pereira, The Playwrights Realm kicks off their 2017-18 season with the World Premiere of Michael Yates Crowley's The Rape of the Sabine Women, By Grace B. Matthias (August 25 - September 23) at The Duke on 42nd Street, a New 42nd Street project. Directed by Tyne Rafaeli, this complex collision of satire and dark comedy fearlessly explores rape culture in America and was previously developed as part of The Realm's 2014-15 Writing Fellowship.

Two Boulder-area professional theater companies have received a $30,000 grant from the Boulder Arts Commission (BAC) to collaborate on an untested, never-before-tried audience engagement effort to bring new audiences to the theater.

The Playwrights Realm, led by Katherine Kovner, Founding Artistic Director, and Roberta Pereira, Producing Director, celebrated its tenth anniversary with the annual Writers Block Party honoring Realm Board Member and award-winning playwright and actor, Anna Deavere Smith. The Writers Block Party took place on Tuesday, May 16, 2017 at The Stanley H. Kaplan Penthouse in the Samuel B. & David Rose Building, and was hosted by Lauren Patten (Fun Home, The Wolves). OBERON, the American Repertory Theater's (A.R.T.) second stage and club theater venue on the fringe of Harvard Square, announces all the offerings to be presented at OBERON during September and October, in addition to the previously announced productions, including Visiting Artists, Artists in Residence, and Usual Suspects.

The American Repertory Theater expands its 2015/16 Season programming with the OBERON Presents series, featuring a range of artists, companies, and programs. As the second stage of the A.R.T., a unique club theater venue, OBERON challenges artists to explore new relationships with space, performance, and audience experience. OBERON hosts a range of experimental work -- these shows invite audiences to listen to new voices and to hear old stories in new ways. This exploration is integral to A.R.T.'s mission to expand the boundaries of theater.
