Musical Theater West Announces Cast Of 'THE PRODUCERS'

Musical Theatre West is delighted to announce the principal cast for its upcoming Southern California regional premiere of The Producers. Michael Kostroff, best known as Maurice Levy in the HBO series The Wire will play conniving theatrical producer Max Bialystock. Michael traveled the U.S. in the first national tour of The Producers, playing twelve roles a night and understudying both Max Bialystock and Roger De Bris, and toured again in Les Mis?rables, as the comically evil innkeeper, Monsieur Th?nardier.

It is directed by Larry Ravon; choreographed by Matthew Vargo; Jeff Buchsbaum is musical director; lighting design by Paul Miller; with original scenic design by Robin Wagner and original costume design by William Ivey Long. Reprise! is announcing casting for Li'l Abner - Eric Martsolf will play Abner and Brandi Lynn Burkhardt will play Daisy Mae. They join the previously announced Cathy Rigby (Mammy Yokum) and Fred Willard (Senator Bullmoose). The cast also includes John Ganun as Earthquake McGoon, Michael Kostroff as Marryin' Sam, and Robert Towers as Pappy Yokum.
