Continuing its push for more year round programming, The CW's Summer 2019 schedule is taking shape, as the network sets initial premiere dates, launching 11 original series throughout the summer, more than ever before, including six all new scripted and unscripted series as well as several returning favorites.

XYZ Films and Starburns Industries announces today that they will produce the biographical documentary WELCOME TO MY DAYDREAM, about the stop-motion animation pioneer Will Vinton. The film will be directed by Marq Evans, and produced by XYZ Films and Starburns Industries, with XYZ handling worldwide sales for the project.

SINGH, directed by 18-year-old Jenna Ruiz, is a powerful short film based on a true incident from 2007. Gurinder Singh, a Sikh man, was denied from boarding a flight because he refused to remove his turban after successfully passing through each security measure at the airport.

Inspire the Night: House of Yes, the latest episode from Season 3 of the Inspire the Night docuseries drops today on Red Bull TV. The episode, available to stream on-demand, profiles the iconic performance-fueled night club and creative venue in Brooklyn and their founders Kae Burke and Anya Sapozhnikova.  

East West Players (EWP), the nation's longest-running professional theater of color and the largest producing organization of Asian American artistic work, is pleased to announce the appointment of five new members to the Board of Directors: Christine Chang, Alex Giza, Andrew Huynh, May Lee, and Nayan Shah. The new appointments hail from diverse backgrounds in law, media, education, e-commerce, and global management, and are avid supporters of the performing arts and Asian American theater. The size of EWP's Board of Directors has increased to 17 members from 12 members last year. 

Full casting has been announced for Rain Man, the inaugural production of Bill Kenwright's Classic Screen to Stage Theatre Company. Joining the previously announced Gavin and Stacey's Mathew Horne (Raymond) and Downtown Abbey's Ed Speleers (Charlie) is: Mairi Barclay (Pippin), Hannah Barker, Elizabeth Carter (Dreamboats and Petticoats), Adam Lilley (The 39 Steps), Neil Roberts (Mamma Mia!) and Joe Sellman Leava (Monster).

BRIC presents Alchemy, its major summer 2018 exhibition, featuring the work of seven artists reconceiving non-conventional materials in a reflection on the ancient concept of alchemy-the transformation of matter (June 28 - August 12). Employing diverse media, these artists create visually layered statements about the body, gender, race, and the environment. Their work, which includes large-scale installations and work commissioned by BRIC, also manifests the potential for the spiritual to be drawn out from the quotidian world around us.

Bill Kenwright presents the inaugural Classic Screen to Stage Theatre Company production of RAIN MAN. Mathew Horne (Gavin & Stacey, The Catherine Tate Show) stars as Raymond Babbit opposite Ed Speleers (Downton Abbey, Wolf Hall) as Charlie Babbit. RAIN MAN opens at Windsor Theatre Royal on 21 August, before embarking on a UK tour to Milton Keynes, Cardiff, Eastbourne, Southend, Edinburgh, Cambridge, Brighton, Guildford, Leeds, Richmond, Derby and Northampton. Further dates and casting to be announced in due course.

Next month ODC Theater provides an early kickoff to the summer with the seventh anniversary of its signature dance festival. Highlights include a West Coast premiere from filmmaker and choreographer Yara Travieso, the Bay Area solo debut of Toronto native Belinda McGuire and a world premiere from Kiandanda Dance Theater.

Production studio Electus has teamed with eleven-time Grammy-winning songwriter, producer and artist Kenny “Babyface” Edmonds for a new, scripted 90s music series (as yet untitled) it was announced today by Electus CEO Chris Grant and Electus President John Pollak.

Big Fish Entertainment, the production company behind A&E's Live PD, cable's #1 series Friday andSaturday nights, and VH1's hit Black Ink Crew franchise, the #1 non-sports cable program in its time period, is expanding its infrastructure after a banner 2017, tapping former Sirens Media executive and producer Lucilla D'Agostino as its first chief creative officer.

BRIC teams up with the Public Theater's Under the Radar Festival and CalArts Center for New Performance (CNP) to present the New York premiere of Roger Guenveur Smith and CNP's The Hendrix Project, January 11-14, 2018, at BRIC House (647 Fulton Street, Downtown Brooklyn), as part of the Public Theater's 2018 Under the Radar Festival.

ABC is set to premiere MRB Productions' new documentary Back To Life, narrated by Scandal star Tony Goldwyn, on January 13. The documentary, written and directed by Clayton Vila and produced by Emmy-winning producer Matthew Brady and MRB, chronicles Olympic freestyle skiing prodigy Torin Yater-Wallace's insurmountable climb from near death to rebounding in time to snatch the gold at the 2016 X Games in Oslo.

BRIC presents Reenactment, a group exhibition examining and agitating the aesthetics and politics of historical reenactment in contemporary art (January 18-February 25). In traditional reenactments, events like the American Revolution and Civil War are embodied by amateur performers using storytelling and props, all too often approaching history as unchangeable and absolute.
