One of the most quoted speeches in United States history, the Gettysburg Address was delivered by Lincoln in 1863 at the dedication of the Soldiers? National Cemetery in Gettysburg Pennsylvania. With the Civil War in progress, the two-minute speech invoked the principles of human equality espoused by the Declaration of Independence.
