Gareth Gates Joins West End's LES MIZ

According to report by Whatsonstage.com, Gareth Gates will join the cast of the West End production of LES MISERABLES at the Queens Theatre. Gates will replace Alistair Brammer as Marius from October 18-November 20, and then January 31-June 18.

On July 16th, the cast of London's Wicked will welcome Dianne Pilkington as Glinda, Oliver Tompsett (Royal Hunt of the Sun, National Theatre) as Fiyero, and Andy Mace (Martin Guerre) as Doctor Dillamond.

Kerry Ellis (Elphaba), Susie Blake (Madame Morrible), Nigel Planer (The Wizard), James Gillan (Boq) and Katie Rowley Jones (Nessarose) have all extended their contracts in the hit musical Wicked at London's Apollo Victoria Theatre from Monday, July 16, onwards.

The hit musical WICKED, at London's Apollo Victoria Theatre, has set a new all-time record for a single week's gross in the West End. For the week 26-30 December 2006, WICKED grossed a record-breaking £873,020. WICKED was the West End's top-selling show during Christmas week and also set a new Box Office record at the Apollo Victoria for the third time:

Idina Menzel gave her final performance as the unusually green witch, Elphaba, in the London production of the hit musical Wicked on the 30th December at the Apollo Victoria Theatre. Her three-month contract, which paid a record-breaking $30,000 per week, is now over and Kerry Ellis takes over the role from 1st January 2007.
