La Compañía Nacional de Teatro del Instituto Nacional de Bellas Artes y Literatura (INBAL) realizó el domingo 2 de junio un homenaje a Rosenda Monteros, actriz emérita de la CNTeatro, en la última función de la temporada de La Celestina, obra clásica que dirigiría en conjunto con Ruby Tagle, quien quedó al frente del proyecto tras el fallecimiento de Rosenda en diciembre pasado.

United Solo Celebrates One Decade As The World's Largest Solo Theatre Festival

Tickets are now on sale for the new season of United Solo, which celebrates its tenth anniversary with over 120 productions, presented every day between September 19 and November 24. The festival will take place at the newly renovated Theatre Row in the heart of New York's theatre district, which has been home to the festival since its inception. Throughout the past decade, the festival has presented more than 1,000 productions from six continents.

Cal State Fullerton's Spring semester begins with "The Cherry Orchard" by Anton Chekhov, translated by Paul Schmidt and directed by Maria Cominis. The play runs from March 8-24, 2019 in the Young Theatre on campus. "The Cherry Orchard" follows a destitute Russian aristocrat who returns home to find her family in a financial crisis, forcing them to sell their home to pay off their debt. The family must decide on their prospects for happiness and how to rebuild their lives and fortunes.

Chamber Music Hawaii (CMH) and the University of Hawai?i (UH) celebrate the centennial of Stravinsky's L'Histoire du Soldat (The Soldier's Tale) with an original Hawaiian translation of the work: Molelo o ke Koa. The production is adapted and directed by Todd Farley, and it features CMH musicians alongside actors and dancers from UH. Public performances are Monday, January 14 at 7:30 p.m. in the Doris Duke Theatre and Today, January 18 at 7:30 p.m. in Paliku Theatre. General Admission tickets are $35 per person and can be purchased at ChamberMusicHawaii.org.

Eisemann Center Presents Mummenschanz in their new show you & me on Friday, February 23, 2018 at 8:00 pm. Mummenschanz is a Swiss mask theater troupe who perform in a surreal mask- and prop-oriented style. Founded in 1972 by Bernie Schurch, Andres Bossard (August 9, 1944 - March 25, 1992), and the Italian-American Floriana Frassetto, the group became popular for its play with bizarre masks and forms, light and shadow, and their subtle choreography. The name Mummenschanz [?m?m?n??an?] is German for 'mummery,' or a play involving mummers. Mummer is an Early Modern English term for a mime artist.
